Skater Boy

Here are some more pictures for you. These were taken over the Labor Day weekend of Andrew and his buddies. They wanted to go to the skatepark which is like a big hangout for 8 to 18 year olds who like to show off with their tricks. On this day we had to go to the Grayslake park (each town has their own) because the one closest to us didn't have high enough ramps! Some of the kids there were pretty incredible. I thought for sure that I would have to call 911 because someone was going to crack their head open.

We are so proud of Brad. Today he was inducted into both the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta (math honor society).

Crosswords

For those who haven't heard yet (I think I told you, Aunt Jan), I recently successfully auditioned to be a contestant on the game show Merv Griffin's Crosswords. It's a brand new show... just started airing (you can find out where on their site). Well, I just got back from taping my episode, and let me tell you, it was a whole lot of fun. I can't tell you how I did (they make us sign a contract!), but that would spoil the fun of it, anyway! When I find out when it's airing, I'll of course let everyone know, and then we can all stare tensely at the screen together. Probably won't be for another couple of months, though.

Aunt Jan, I hope you're not *too* bored out there. I look forward to visiting you at Christmas, and I *really* look forward to when you can come out an visit me in L.A.!

Two victories!

Two victories in one day! Andrew's team won the fall ball tournament! They received 1st place sweatshirts instead of trophies. Normally at this time of the year that would be a wonderful prize, but on the day of the tournament the temperature was about 90 degrees.





Taylor's volleyball team took 2nd place at her tournament. The 2 St. Gilbert teams took first and second.

Katie & Tommy's Trip to Chicago

We flew up to Chicago for five days to interview for grad school/med school. Rick and Michelle were nice enough to put us up for the duration. In between our interviews, which went really well, we saw the city and had some fun. We even got front-row seats to Wicked for only $25! They hold a drawing two hours before the show, and we were two of the lucky winners. From here it's off to Boston for a few more interviews!
