Andrew's First Touchdown

This is the video of Andrew's first touchdown. It was the first time he ever carried the football in a game. It was also the first offensive play of the first game of the season.

Here are some more pictures for you. These were taken over the Labor Day weekend of Andrew and his buddies. They wanted to go to the skatepark which is like a big hangout for 8 to 18 year olds who like to show off with their tricks. On this day we had to go to the Grayslake park (each town has their own) because the one closest to us didn't have high enough ramps! Some of the kids there were pretty incredible. I thought for sure that I would have to call 911 because someone was going to crack their head open.

We are so proud of Brad. Today he was inducted into both the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta (math honor society).

Crosswords

For those who haven't heard yet (I think I told you, Aunt Jan), I recently successfully auditioned to be a contestant on the game show Merv Griffin's Crosswords. It's a brand new show... just started airing (you can find out where on their site). Well, I just got back from taping my episode, and let me tell you, it was a whole lot of fun. I can't tell you how I did (they make us sign a contract!), but that would spoil the fun of it, anyway! When I find out when it's airing, I'll of course let everyone know, and then we can all stare tensely at the screen together. Probably won't be for another couple of months, though.

Aunt Jan, I hope you're not *too* bored out there. I look forward to visiting you at Christmas, and I *really* look forward to when you can come out an visit me in L.A.!

Two victories!

Two victories in one day! Andrew's team won the fall ball tournament! They received 1st place sweatshirts instead of trophies. Normally at this time of the year that would be a wonderful prize, but on the day of the tournament the temperature was about 90 degrees.





Taylor's volleyball team took 2nd place at her tournament. The 2 St. Gilbert teams took first and second.

Katie & Tommy's Trip to Chicago

We flew up to Chicago for five days to interview for grad school/med school. Rick and Michelle were nice enough to put us up for the duration. In between our interviews, which went really well, we saw the city and had some fun. We even got front-row seats to Wicked for only $25! They hold a drawing two hours before the show, and we were two of the lucky winners. From here it's off to Boston for a few more interviews!

This is our new home for hopefully not longer than four months showing the apartment complex, the mail room (we don't get much) and Pops sitting in his chair. Gammy has her own chair. Pop's chair is dangerous but that's a long story.

We are about halfway through the volleyball season. Taylor's team has improved so much since the last time you were here. You wouldn't believe how well they bump, set and spike.

Joey's 15 Seconds of Fame

Joey's company is working on the launch of a new TV show, TMZ. It's a celebrity gossip show that comes on every night. He's been working some long hours and weekends to get them going. Actually, the show is pretty sleezy. They film their morning meeting where they go over the stories of the day and Joey sits in. He happened to get on camera Friday. Now that they are up and running, he'll be moving off of that job and on to something else.

Look for the guy to the right in the purple shirt and glasses.

More Football!

Yes, we do have 2 other children besides Andrew. Unfortunately, it is difficult to pictures of Taylor's volleyball because of the lighting in the gym and Brad is never around anymore since he can drive himself to golf and other events. These are pics from Andrew's football game last weekend!

We tried to get more people on it... well, no we didn't. Jay and Sue invited us over Labor Day weekend. Justin couldn't make it. Maybe we could have gotten him on... or Pops.

Wicked Witches

I told you about our trip to the city in June to win tickets for Wicked the Musical. Well, here are those pics. It started off with painting our faces, but since we had to wait so long, the kids painted every part of their body that was exposed to the sun (just for the fun of it). The only problem was that the paint did not come off easily and we all had a green tint to our skin for a few days.

Are you ready for some football?

Today was opening day for football. Andrew is number 22 and was on the field for the coin toss. He had a blast during his first game. On the very first offensive play of the game, he ran 50 yards for a touchdown! Andrew also is the kicker and kicked the ball straight and far each time.

First Day of School Pics

Here are some pics from the first day of school. Andrew was excited about the first day because they were only going for 2 hours and would meet their teachers and their classmates. He didn't want to go back on Thursday because he would have to go all day. Taylor and Andrew both like their teachers and have a lot of friends in their classes.
